The NGINX Team Goes to Velocity Conference

The NGINX team is headed to the Velocity Conference next week in Santa Clara, California! The conference runs from June 24–26, 2014 and there is still time to register if you haven’t already. Please use our discount code, NGINX25, to get of 25% off.

If you don’t know about Velocity already, it began as an event to share knowledge around web performance, which is our speciality. There are many reasons to attend, including hands‑on training opportunities, sessions about scaling and performance, opportunities to offer product feedback, and most importantly opportunities to network with peers and develop connections.

For example, we have a few members of the core NGINX engineering team joining us in booth #909. Please stop by and ask us questions. We will also have a sweet giveaway and a fun quiz about web performance. Just by answering a few easy questions about the web, speed, and NGINX, you could win a $200 Amazon gift certificate!

Or, join me for office hours at 1:15 pm on Thursday in the O’Reilly booth to discuss web acceleration, open source, and developer communities. You can find me at Table 2 in the Exhibit Hall.

And, lastly, on Thursday, June 26th at 4:15 pm, I will be giving a presentation titled 5 Things You Didn’t Know NGINX Could Do. NGINX is used by millions of websites and even teams that work with NGINX are not aware of many features packed into it and NGINX Plus. It’s increasingly important to optimize your websites and applications for the best possible performance. There’s a direct correlation between page‑load time and website engagement. Imagine being able to tell your boss you can increase conversions and reduce infrastructure costs.

Whether or not you have questions, please do stop by one of these places or events and introduce yourself.

If you can’t attend Velocity, there are still ways you can participate. You can follow @nginx on twitter and get the link to the Speed Quiz. You can also reach me directly on twitter, @sarahnovotny.

Velocity is one of my favorite conferences and I know it’s going to be filled with great presentations, demos, and interesting people. I hope to see you there.
